Composition 

• place objects, but not in the middle

• put them to one side, or to the top or bottom

• Do this so you can direct the eye of the viewer. If an object is placed in the middle of the image, the eye has nowhere to go.

• this is the expected direction that the eye moves when reading, top left to bottom right in a z shape

• the shape of the expected content
