CSC - Legal and Ethical Responsibilities of Software Users

Everybody on a computer uses software.
Some people use software that is NOT legal.
A friend gives it to them because they can't afford it. Does this make it right?
It is illegal to use some software unless you have paid for it.

If the software you are using is freeware, then you can use it without paying for it.
But, you as a software user, are legally and ethically obliged to pay for software that is not freeware. (most software is NOT free)
It is not legal to get pirate versions of software and install it onto your computer or device.
All software users should follow the legal and ethical responsibilities for the software they are using.
A reason for this is that for software to be high quality, a company needs to hire very good programming developers, support staff, marketing and lots more. All this costs money. They have a right to get this money back, plus more to make a profit. If they make a profit, then they can stay in business and make even more software for you to enjoy.
